Thank you explaining how you made a color palette! While I hadn't thought of that consciously, my last book did all take place in the ocean, so the colors did work out well. Is your book only eight spreads because it is for very young children?

Hi Suzanna! Yes, it's a board book so they tend to be much shorter. The last few I've done have all been 8 spreads, but sometimes a board book is as short as 5 spreads.

Your ocean book sounds great, it can be so colourful under the sea!

Thanks Susannah! Once I’ve handed over the illustrations the designer makes everything look so much better! It was exciting to see the final book and all the different print finishes and textures!

I always love reading about peoples processes. They vary so much, and it’s so interesting to read how you tackled visual problems. It is always such random things that make us take a step back and really have to think. Great read as always Nanette!
