These made me laugh so hard! I'll admit to being guilty of several of the things illustrated, including the nervous dog in a coat (not jumper) and hoovering outside the house. In my defence, we've been doing endless building work and have to be sure that stray nails and splinters of wood don't get wedged in the 60s concrete driveway to be picked up by the car tyres or nervous dog's feet.
The final illustration has confirmed my suspicion that you are actually my neighbour and are just drawing me!
Glad you recognised the feeling in the last drawing! It happens so often doesn't it!?! Hope your building work is finished soon so you can put the hoover down! 🤣
Oh this made me laugh, thank you. It reminded me of my days as a Saturday girl at WH Smiths - we had the world's worst secret store detective. Literally she stood out like a sore thumb - she was easily 6ft 3 - she had the loudest voice ever and she knew absolutely everyone in town. And they knew her. She was such a warm, lovely person - but inconspicuous she was not :)
Oh and one of the things I noticed recently: it was just a couple of days ago when I noticed a bird vomiting. I've never seen a bird vomiting before so it was quite a view! 😂
As a former retail shop seller, although without training sessions, I found most of the people suspicious. To me, even those that looked totally normal (probably), looked suspicious because they looked TOO normal! They were indeed a great source of inspiration for my daily doodles. I miss that job because of that.
🤣 I love the idea of being suspiciously “too normal”. Working in retail is such a great way to spot all sorts of characters isn’t it? I miss that aspect of it too!
Loved reading this Nanette. It is so important to notice things and this is a great reminder. Love your sketchbook pages of observations!
I love your sketchbooks Charlotte, all the things you notice at swimming pools are brilliant!
Ahh thanks so much Nanette 🙌

🤣 that is pretty unique! I’ve never seen that but now I’m wondering about it a bit too much! 🤣

I absolutely loved that, it's infinite inspiration resource!
Love the kid being slid across the floor!
It was a lot of fun to see that happen in real life!
Haha! That’s great! I love the idea of the secret store detective being friends with everyone in town! 🤣
