Nanette! Your drawings are just sublime. What beautiful line you have.
Also rivers and Australia house and that Fude pen…All excellent things for me to check out on a rare trip to London next week! Loving the drawings on Instagram too.
Have a brilliant time in London Susannah! Thank you so much for the lovely compliment, it's made me so happy! The Fude pen took a bit of getting used to but I love it now, it gives a really nice line
Love your sketches and love the way it all led to so many fascinating discoveries - which is exactly what sketching does for me too. Quite often sends me off into a rabbit warren of research! I had the same uncertainty with a fude pen, until I discovered there are nibs of 2 different angles (green pen blue pen). Blue's the one for me. You?
Isn't it amazing where a drawing can lead you?! I didn't know there were different angles of fude pen, I've only used the blue one. Weirdly, I have two blue fude pens and the one I use the most has a different drawing feel to the other one. Maybe there's a breaking in period as well as getting used to drawing with one 🤔
Honestly, a tiny A6 makes it soooo much easier to draw in public. It's hardly noticeable and could easily be mistaken for writing in a notebook or something so less likely to get attention!
I love this post!!! Your sketches really brings sense of wonder to what is normally a pain in the bum admin process! I'll remember my sketchbook next time I'm there for expat admin!

Trully beautiful drawings. Faces of those sculptures! Marvelous!
Thank you so much Dunja! Dramatic statue poses always make me chuckle a bit!

Hopefully March next year! If I can get all my documents in order!
Well if you ever make it down to ol Melbourne town!
What fab sketches! I need to start taking a small sketchbook out and about with me for sure 👀🙈

Haha! Thank you so much! Yes, a sketchbook certainly made it a better experience! Good luck for next time you're doing pain in the bum admin 😆
Well I will certainly look at that building with fresh eyes next time I'm passing! Always so much to learn in Secret Sketchbook...
Thank you so much Jane! I love how cities have so many interesting layers to them and the past keeps poking it's head up through anything new!
I love your sketches of the statue decoration!
Thanks so much Jess! I do love a statue that's a bit melodramatic!
