It was meant to be a simple festive card with a character on the front.
The plan was to make something to send out to people I’ve worked with, people I’d love to work with and a few friends.
But it got all out of hand and turned into a mini wordless narrative. So I made it into a zine! Here’s the artwork:
And now I’ve made a little video showing the stages this project went through.
It’s my first video in this newsletter so I just went for it before I could chicken out. That’s why there’s some chat about doilies in the middle - enjoy!
If you want to get your work in front of people send them something nice in the post! A postcard is ideal - your work on the front, your details on the back and off you go!
I did question whether this was worth the time and the cost of postage but I’ve had some great positive feedback so it was definitely 100% worth it! Give it a go!
How do feel about video in the newsletter now and again? It won’t be regular, just curious if it’s annoying or interesting!
Yes! interesting once in a while
No! No more of that, thank you
Ps - a quick reminder that my print shop is open now! 🎄The last date for Christmas deliveries in the UK is Monday 16 December🎄
Love the video. Thanks for including the “Yeah, that didn’t work out,” parts. A lot of artists (myself included) try to hide that part of the process.
I just lke what you do. Making the effort. I have been sending clients similar stuff, because i do photography, but last year, I saved. Maybe in 2025
